Rain on the plastic roof that i was recording with zoom h1n handy recorder for some project at my home.

A big carton board was held by two people, and then shaken to produce the deep rumbling sound. Various ways of shaking and holding it, resulted in a very close thunder sound. A zoom h6 recorder, with the xy capsule was used to record it, inside of a classroom.

I was doing some field recording and it so happen that when i was out and about we had hail storm so i recorded from the start to finish. Whew! almost got hit by a hail stone as big as a pingpong ball. Yes, it was that big my car has dent all over, not good aye!.

This lightning strikes just few meters from me!trying to record a nice dry summer storm in the country side azaruja, portugal. Chldren were playing in the neighbour when a low lightning activity thunderstorm came to pécel and lasted for 1-2 hours. It produced 10 mm of moderate rain and bright intracloud lightning. Recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone. The storm arrival had a little disaster movie impression for me.

I recorded a pretty gnarly storm on 8/25 around 1:30 am. The cars are off the road but you still get that city reflection. I placed two rode nt5s in my living room windows and set them to record for about nine minutes. It wouldn't be great for an outdoor situation but it's a good "thunderstorm from an apartment in the city" recording. It's in 16 44. 1, stereo. Use it for whatever you want, no credit needed. -jp.

Zoom h4n - onboard microphones. This recording was captured in the city of orange in orange county, california. This is located just below los angeles and less than a mile from disneyland in anaheim. This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. Note: that the rain decreases in intensity near the end. 8:09 - 9:37 - 10:31 - 11:20. - christopher.

Rode nt4 placed centered and perpendicular to an outside window, fed into an maudio delta1010lt. Slight clipping on the larger thunder claps, had the input slightly too high. This is a sample of about an hours worth of recordings i got on this storm. Heavy rain and the lightning got so bad later i had to shut off my computer. 3am couldnt sleep.

This is an old recording from the year 2001 of a thunderstorm occured on 5th may 2001, at about 2am in pécel (nieghbour town from budapest), hungary. It was recorded by a grundig cr120 and i used audacity to remove the main background noise.

On 8th of june 2013 thunderstorms developed above pécel, small town in hungary in the afternoon. The greatest part is recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone. Unfortunately some of my neighbours were talking too and can be heard in the recording.

I recorded this rainy ambience from my balcony at around 2:00 am. This place is located on the outskirts of delhi, india. Although it never happens that it rains in winter, but sometimes it does. A digitally created thunderstorm using a yamaha keyboard. The clip last for about 2 minutes. The rain isn't heard until the end and doesn't start until like a minute and thirty seconds in or so and lasts for only about 30 seconds. Recorded with a yamaha keyboard and audacity. My fourth recording.
